    thanks for having this site. I am a lower elementary teacher that is teaching a 6th grade NJ ASK writing class this year with no experience. For explanatory writing we have been using a 3 paragraph format. Do you have any tips= of course I ask them to use figurative language, higher order adjectives, transitional words and some form of personal connection.
